Kenny G. Krauss is a Los Angeles-based editor with 20 years of experience in the film industry. His interest in filmmaking started at a young age as an annual “Celebrity Season Pass” holder at Universal Studios and grew through making skate videos with friends in high school. Kenny’s passion for editing took off while attending UC Santa Barbara when he won the Price Is Right’s Showcase Showdown and used part of his winnings to buy his first non-linear editing system.
After spending his 20s learning the ins and outs of filmmaking by assisting director Andrew Davis (Holes, The Fugitive, Under Siege) and actor/producer Ashton Kutcher, Kenny transitioned to post production. He quickly moved up the ladder as an Assistant/Associate Editor working with the industry’s most talented feature editors including William Goldenberg, ACE (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Roger Barton, ACE (Terminator: Genysis, co-founder of Evercast), and Leigh Folsom-Boyd, ACE (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales).
While assisting on these Hollywood blockbusters for the major studios, Kenny learned to master his craft cutting scenes, previsualizations, animatics, sizzle reels, temp sound effects and music. He learned to deliver under high-pressured deadlines working directly with some of the industry’s top filmmakers like Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer, Neal Moritz, Jon M. Chu and Tim Miller.
Over the last several years Kenny has worked alongside Jim May, ACE as Additional Editor on RampageBloodshot, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Most recently he was co-editor with Jim on Amazon’s Candy Cane Lane starring Eddie Murphy. Other editorial highlights include cutting the end title sequence and director’s cut for Jon M. Chu’s GI Joe: Retaliation
Additionally, Kenny was co-editor on Toei Animation’s adaption of Knights of the Zodiac for Sony/Stage 6 Films starring Sean Bean and Famke Janssen.
Kenny and his wife are foster parents sharing three beautiful children and a labrador. His interests beyond filmmaking and family include swimming, street photography, Peloton bootcamps, selvedge denim, vintage-hunting, and mid-century furniture.
